As a child, I loved to sing. Although I was given ballet, dance, and piano lessons, somehow, I never took singing lessons.
In high school, I joined glee clubs and choirs so that I could do what I loved most- SING!
After college, my first job enabled me to pay for singing lessons with the renowned vocal coach, Judy Davis. She was very busy with people like Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand and I was ecstatic when she "took me on".
A few years later, I sang for a while in San Francisco nightclubs like The Hungry I. Then, I decided to focus on being a mom, which conflicted with my singing career. So, I put the career on hold except for performing in the Tiburon Players theatrical group and children's theater, Masque Unit. This allowed me to be a full-time mom and still enjoy my love of singing.
Fifty years later, my sweet husband, Peter, kept saying, "You have to make a CD for your family!". So, thank you, Peter, for your encouragement and undying support and for helping me make my first CD, "Legacy." It is a special gift to my two daughters, step-sons, grandchildren, friends, and fans.
Sincere thanks go to my friend, former co-worker, and fabulous pianist, Larry Moss. His talent, patience, and guidance were invaluable. He is a superb keyboard artist and a joy to work with!
Also, many thanks to Jimmy Hobson, for working his recording production magic and eliciting my best possible performance.
And a great big thank you to Tom Joyce, Peter's publishing partner and gifted art director and author, for the beautiful cover photo and CD jacket design. Don't it make my "blue eyes blue"?
With love and appreciation,
Carole (with an "e")
